Storing up!

G.K. Chesterton said, “There are two ways to get enough: One is to accumulate more and more, and the other is to desire less.” There is always room to acquire more things and make more room where the cycle never ends. I’ve heard it called chasing our tail or biblically chasing after the wind. If we choose the Chesterton’s second advise, “to desire less” the likelihood of living a full life increases. This philosophy goes against our worldly beliefs and we have overlooked the ONE desire that God put deep into every human heart; to know Him more. I have heard people say, it is lonely at the top, or I thought this would fulfilled me and it didn’t. Keep in mind, Satan main weapon used against us today; the spirit of busyness. Until WE CHOOSE to devote more time in worship and spending time with God in reading the Bible, we will never have complete satisfaction in this life. Hosea 2:19-20 talks about a relationship with Him as you study His Word. As we turn towards God, and leave the demands of acquiring more, our life starts to take on new characteristics of humility, gratitude and a longing to please God. With theses new charctertics comes a life of love, peace, joy, mercy, and grace. This is the verses in Galatians 5:22. My prayer is to make 2025 the year to require less earthly possessions, while drawing closer to God, hope you join me.
