Soaking
Today is a bittersweet day, my oldest daughter, Sydney went home to be with the Lord eleven years ago from a tragic careless accident. I call it bittersweet because the sweet part is the Lord stepping in to carry me in the early days and years, reminding me, we will be reunited again. His closeness and love, along with many wonderful family, friends, and even strangers, provides HOPE to keep moving forward. His remolding of me, along with my new dependent need for Him, has created a beautiful relationship over the years. Everyday I spend time soaking up His Word to determine His direction my life. Unfortunately before Sydney‘s accident, I ran my life, schedule and family’s life. From the outside, the secular world would call us a ”Christian Family”. But the word Christian was a noun for us, and the Lord intended it to be a verb. Like soaking, an action verb, we must engaged at the soul level, and stop praying for the Lord to do something when we are capable of doing the work. Unless we spend time with Him, soaking in His Word, we are clueless! Learn from me, start 2023 soaking in The Word and seeking His face and plan for your life. And set into motion your prayers that you have the ability to change and the ones you don’t, lay at the Cross for Him to carry and worry about. From the bottom of my heart, this is a recipe for PEACE! Go love one more and leave EVERYONE better than you found them.
