Below are statements I here often when bad things happen that really upset me….”God won’t give you more than you can handle” is untrue and unhelpful. The Bible doesn’t teach this and in fact, teaches the opposite truth. 1 Corinthians 10:13 Paul is telling us in this passage that no one will be tempted to sin beyond what he or she can bear. This is amazingly good news but it doesn’t teach a person will not face trials or suffering beyond what we can bear. Sometimes really bad things happen to let us know we can’t rely on ourselves or this world but on Jesus alone. On Jesus we set our hope in Him alone: PERIOD. The second statement made often is life will get easier which is another fallacy along with I know how you feel. And lastly, everything happens for a reason. Please drop this statements from your communication and start speaking the Word which is life over people especially during difficult times. Walk along side of people in difficult times and speak life: You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. Be the hands and feet of Jesus. Your misery can be your ministry.
